Bella e perduta è un bel documentario, ma anche molto singolare.
La camera entra nei luoghi, quasi dentro le persone. Diventa addirittura l’occhio di un bufalo immergendoci in un realismo a 360°. Bella e perduta non è commedia, non è lieto fine. Non è dramma. E’ densità. E’ come un’immersione nel nocciolo della vita.
Ci troviamo di fronte a persone e non a personaggi, idiomi e dialetti e non lingua e dizione. Paesaggi vergini. Crudezza di vivere, insomma poesia.
C’è molta poesia nel documentario di PietroMarcello, una poesia dei poveri.
Nonostante non abbia una trama subito comprensibile e lineare il documentario si può dividere in due momenti.
La prima parte ci presenta Tommaso Cestrone, l’angelo di Carditello: il volontario che accudì la reggia di carditello come una sua creatura. Un posto che amava anche se non serviva più a nulla, anche se cadeva a pezzi. Lo amava forse proprio perchè condannato a morte. Ha subito intimidazioni, ha sofferto, faticato senza compenso. E’ morto lì.
Lascia come sua eredità solo un bufalo. Un maschio. Anche questo di nesssuna utilità perchè non dà latte. Anche questo amato.
Qui si apre la seconda parte. Si fa maggiormente spazio l’elemento fantastico quasi fiabesco di cui lo spettatore aveva avuto fin dai primi fotogrammi qualche indizio.
Il protagonista diventa l’erede di Tommaso Cestrone, il suo bufalo. Un erede in tutti i sensi. Eredita la nostalgia di qualcosa di bello e perduto (come la purezza del suo padrone) eredita per certi versi la sua vana morte.
Un bufalo rassegnato, pacificamente rassegnato ma che non rimane zitto. Parla dell’uomo, della vita senza accuse nè rancori. Lo fa con un quasi divino distacco come se gli fosse rivelata la saggezza di millenni.
Ad accompagnarci lungo tutto il percorso la singolare figura di Pulcinella mandato sulla terra da un posto non ben definito, con la missione di “dar voce al bufalo”e salvarlo dal macello ma anche impegnato in un suo proprio percorso personale che lo vedrà non più servo, oggetto delle volontà altrui ma soggetto libero che decide di disfarsi della propria maschera per incontrare autenticamente se stesso e poter quindi vivere e amare a viso scoperto.
Documentario ricco di allegorie e spunti di riflessione.Ottime scenografia e fotografia. Il linguaggio crudo e poetico sottolineano la caratteristica presenza simultanea di elementi fortemente contrastanti.
Forse tale complessità compromette l’immediatezza,la fluidità e la linearità della trama rendendo difficile assemblare i molti e differenti aspetti della storia. Il ritmo è, credo, volutamente monotono. Il tempo che il regista ci mostra, è un tempo espanso, dilatato. Calmo. Rassegnato e pacifico.

Beautiful and lost is a good documentary, but also very unique.
The room entering most, almost inside people. Even becomes the eye of a buffalo immersing ourselves in a realistic 360 °. Beautiful and lost is not comedy, is not a happy ending. It is not drama. And ‘density. And ‘how to dive into the core of life.
We are in front of people and not to the characters, idioms and dialects and language and diction. Virgin landscapes. Rawness of life, in short poem.
There’s a lot of poetry in the documentary PietroMarcello, a poem of the poor.
Despite not having a plot immediately understandable and straightforward documentary can be divided into two parts.
The first part presents Thomas Cestrone, the angel Carditello a volunteer who nursed the palace of carditello as one of his creatures. A place he loved even though it was no longer anything, even if falling apart. Perhaps because she loved him sentenced to death. Suffered intimidation, suffered, struggled without compensation. And ‘who died there.
He leaves as his legacy only a buffalo. A male. Even this nesssuna of utility because it gives milk. This also loved.
This opens the second part. It makes more space element fantastic fairytale which the viewer had some clues from the first frames.
The protagonist becomes the heir of Thomas Cestrone, his buffalo. An heir in every sense. Inherit the nostalgia of something beautiful and lost (as the purity of his master) inherits some ways her death vain.
A buffalo resigned peacefully resigned but that does not remain silent. He speaks of man, of life without charges nor grudges. It does so with an almost divine detachment as if he had revealed the wisdom of millennia.
To accompany us along the way the singular figure of Pulcinella sent to earth from a place not well defined, with a mission to “give voice to the buffalo” and save it from the slaughterhouse but also engaged in his own personal journey that will see him no more a servant , subject to the will of others but free agent who decides to get rid of his mask to meet authentically himself and then be able to live and love with unveiled face.
Documentary full of allegories and food for riflessione.Ottime set design and photography. The crude language and emphasize the poetic feature simultaneous presence of strongly contrasting elements.
Perhaps this complexity affect the immediacy, fluidity and the linearity of the plot making it difficult to assemble the many different aspects of the story. The pace is, I believe, deliberately monotonous. The time that the director shows us, is a time expanded, dilated. Calm. Resigned and peaceful.
