Qual è la formula giusta per essere felici? Qual è il modello giusto di famiglia? La monogamia è un valore, un dovere o è ormai solo il mero ricordo di una società che non esiste più?
Negli anni settanta andava di moda vivere in comunità, condividendo esperienze ed emozioni sulla base del pensiero unico “peace and love”.
Difficile stabilire se quest’approccio alla vita fosse sbagliato, eccessivo o, addirittura, amorale, è però certo che, qualsiasi stile e condizione di vita si scelga, è difficile far venire meno egoismo e amor proprio.
Thomas Vinterberg, con il suo lavoro, decide di portare lo spettatore indietro nel tempo, in una Danimarca anni ’70, facendoci conoscere la liberale e unita coppia composta da Erik (Thomsen), stimato architetto e docente universitario, sua moglie Anne (Dyrholm) e la loro figlia adolescente.
Erik ha ricevuto come eredità paterna la vecchia e grande casa d’infanzia e, consapevole di quanto sia dispendioso mantenerla, vorrebbe venderla.
Anne però lo convince a desistere a tale proposito, proponendogli di creare una “Comune”, in modo da rivitalizzare il matrimonio e dare maggiore brio alle loro vite.
Iniziano così dapprima i “colloqui” per scegliere le persone più “adeguate” al progetto e poi la vera e propria convivenza sotto lo stesso tetto.
È l’inizio di una felice utopia? Sì, fino a quando Erik s’innamora di una sua bella e giovane studentessa, minando così certezze affettive di Anne e la tranquillità della Comune.
Il film, che in apparenza vorrebbe decantare le lodi della libertà e dell’amore senza regole, è in realtà una dichiarazione d’approvazione del regista nei confronti della famiglia in senso tradizionale e di adesione all’idea di monogamia e fedeltà coniugale. continua su

What is the right formula for happiness? What is the right model of family? Monogamy is a value, a duty or is it just the mere memory of a society that no longer exists?
In the seventies it was fashionable to live in the community, sharing experiences and emotions on the basis of the single thought “peace and love.”
Difficult to determine whether this approach to life was wrong, excessive or even amoral, it is certain that any style and condition of life you choose, it is difficult to come less selfishness and self-love.
Thomas Vinterberg, with his work, he decided to bring the viewer back in time, in Denmark 70, letting us know the liberal and united tandem of Erik (Thomsen), esteemed architect and university professor, his wife Anne (Dyrholm) and their teenage daughter.
Erik received his father’s legacy as the big old childhood home and, aware of how wasteful keep it, would like to sell it.
Anne, however, convinced him to desist in this respect, proposing to create a “City”, in order to revitalize the marriage and give more panache to their lives.
They start first the “talks” to choose people more “appropriate” to the project and then the real coexistence under the same roof.
It is the beginning of a happy utopia? Yes, until Erik falls in love with his beautiful young student, thus undermining affective certainties of Anne and quiet of the Municipality.
The film, which apparently would like to decant the praises of freedom and love without rules, is actually a statement of approval of the director towards the family in the traditional sense and adherence to the idea of monogamy and marital fidelity. continues on
