“Dio esiste e vive a Bruxelles” è un film del 2015 scritto e diretto da Jacovan Dormael, con : Benoît Poelvoorde, Yolande Moreau, Catherine Deneuve, Pili Groyne
Dio è buono e giusto. Il Paradiso è un luogo di Amore, pace e beatitudine eterna.
Queste e altre cose ci vengono insegnate al catechesi e ripetute dal sacerdote in chiesa ogni santa domenica.
Siamo davvero convinti che non esista come in ogni storia, un ‘altra versione della Bibbia?
E se Dio esistesse davvero e vivesse a Bruxelles? Magari vivendo in un brutto e squallido appartamento con moglie e figlia di 10 anni sconosciuta ai più?
E se Dio fosse burbero, cattivo,misogino, violento e dispettoso? Un Dio del vecchio Testamento 2.0 che trova piacere a mettere a dura prova gli uomini con le sue leggi della sfiga universale scritte al computer?
I teologi si tranquillizzino, non voglio creare una setta né mettere in discussione i dogmi sacri della Chiesa cattolica bensì semplicemente sto riportando la versione di Jacovan Dormael del cristianesimo e delle sue origini.
Per Dormael, Dio (Poelvoorde) è un pessimo padre di famiglia che ha ridotto la moglie al silenzio, fatto scappare di casa JC, figlio prediletto, che è sceso sulla terra per farsi la propria strada e opprime la piccola EA(Groyne).
EA non accettando i metodi di Dio nel gestire l’umanità e stanca dei sui rimproveri e cattiverie decide di lasciare la casa del padre e di visitare Bruxelles e di conoscere il mondo e l’umanità.
EA è anche dispettosa e volendo mettere in discussione l’autorità paterna decide di rivelare ad ogni uomo la data della propria morte tramite sms.
Una rivelazione che sconvolge l’umanità , costringendo ogni singolo uomo a riflettere sulla propria vita e valutare cosa fare del tempo che gli resta da vivere.
Come valutare questo film?: Blasfemo? Capolavoro? Esempio di satira?
E’ sicuramente un film originale, particolare e in qualche modo visionario e poetico.
Giocare con la religione con il rischio di risultare offensivi non è da tutti e Jacovan Dormael dimostra coraggio, creatività e una scrittura davvero pungente e sarcastica.
Un testo davvero complesso che alterna al suo intero momenti di pura comicità ad altri molti alti e intensi sul piano filosofico e religioso.
E’ assai probabile che un film del genere in Italia non sarebbe mai fatto né pensato.
Non a caso il Belgio l’ho candidato come miglior film straniero agli Oscar.
Il cinema deve sapere osare, criticare e far riflettere soprattutto con la forza dl sorriso e dell’ironia.
Il paradosso e limite di questa pellicola risiede proprio nella vastità di temi e nell’ambizione creativa dell’autore
Volendo puntare al Cielo come un novello Icaro, le ali della sceneggiatore si bruciano per troppo volere. Il testo con il trascorrere dei minuti diventa caotico, confusionario e cripto diventando così pesante da digerire per lo spettatore oltre che appesantito dall’eccessiva lunghezza del film. La regia è di talento, visionaria, ricca di metafore, colorata e ispirata eppure è discontinua nel ritmo e soprattutto dispersiva nel portare avanti con chiarezza e forza il filo rosso della storia.
Benoît Poelvoorde è un Dio assolutamente da applausi per come riesce ad essere divino e umano allo stesso modo dando dimostrazione di talento e personalità scena.
Il resto del cast è allo stesso modo di buon livello e capace di dare un buon contributo alla riuscita del film.
Cosa ci insegna dunque questo film? Difficile da stabilire, in gran parte dipende dalla propria sensibilità e fede. Sicuramente lo spettatore uscendo dalla sala ha la certezza che anche nell’alto dei Cieli se a comandare fosse una Donna, il mondo sarebbe davvero un posto migliore.

God is good and just. Paradise is a place of love, peace and eternal happiness.
These and other things we are taught the catechism, and repeated by the priest in church every Sunday holy.
We truly believe that there is, as in every story, an ‘other version of the Bible?
And if God really existed and lived in Brussels? Maybe you are living in an ugly and squalid apartment with his wife and 10 year old daughter unknown to most?
And if God were surly, bad, misogynistic, violent and spiteful? A God of the Old Testament that 2.0 is pleased to put a strain on men with its laws of universal jinx written to the computer?
Theologians tranquilize, do not want to create a sect nor to question the sacred tenets of the Catholic Church but I’m just reporting the version of Jacovan Dormael of Christianity and its origins.
For Dormael, God (Poelvoorde) is a very poor family man who has reduced his wife to silence, JC did run away from home, favorite son, who came down to earth to get their own way and oppresses the small EA (Groyne).
EA is not accepting God’s ways in managing humanity and tired of the accusations and nastiness decides to leave his father’s house and to visit Brussels and to know the world and humanity.
EA is also mischievous and wanting to question parental authority decides to reveal to every man the date of his death via SMS.
A revelation which upsets humanity, forcing each man to reflect on their life and assess what to do with the time he has left to live.
How to evaluate this film ?: Blasphemous? Masterpiece? Example of satire?
It ‘definitely an original film, particular and somewhat visionary and poetic.
Playing with religion at the risk of being offensive is not for everybody and Jacovan Dormael demonstrates courage, creativity and writing really biting and sarcastic.
A really complex text that alternates its entire moments of pure comedy to others many ups and intense on the philosophical and religious.
It ‘very likely that such a film in Italy would not have ever done or thought.
No coincidence that Belgium I nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Oscars.
Film must know dare criticize and give pause especially by force dl smile and irony.
The paradox and the limit of this film lies in the breadth of topics and creative ambition of the author
Wanting to point to the sky like a new Icarus, wings writer will burn for too willing. The text with the passing of minutes becomes chaotic, confusing and krypton making it heavy to digest for the viewer as well as burdened by the excessive length of the film. The director is talented, visionary, full of metaphors, colorful and inspired yet it is discontinuous in the rhythm and especially distracting to carry on with clarity and force the thread of the story.
Benoît Poelvoorde is a God absolutely applause for how it manages to be divine and human alike demonstrating talent and personality scene.
The rest of the cast is similarly good level and capable of giving a good contribution to the success of the film.
What do we learn then this film? Difficult to establish, largely it depends on their sensitivity and faith. Surely the viewer out of the room has the certainty that even in the highest command if it were a woman, the world would be a better place.
