Quando le aspettative sono grandi, la possibilità di restare delusi è sempre dietro l’angolo. È stato questo il primo pensiero che ho avuto dopo aver visto “Avengers. Age of Ultron”. Anche se può suonare strano, penso davvero che chi, come me, ha visto e apprezzato il primo capitolo della serie non possa non restare leggermente deluso dal sequel.
Entrando in sala speravo di poter ammirare ancora una volta quel meccanismo perfetto che, nel primo film, univa testo, interpretazione, effetti speciali e la forza narrativa dei personaggi Marvel. È successo solo in parte. Bisogna ammettere che ripetersi era difficile, se non impossibile.
Pensiamo soltanto al fatto che trovare un cattivo glamour e affascinante come Loki era di per sé un’impresa, e si sa, nessun film di eroi e di super-poteri ha speranza di funzionare senza un “villain” all’altezza. Ultron (James Spider), creato dal genio e soprattutto dalle paure di Tony Stark (Downey Jr.), piace ma non convince fino in fondo. Il personaggio, a ben vedere, non è altro che la nemesi robotica di Stark, un’intelligenza artificiale che, come un novello Frankenstein, si ribella al suo creatore e decide di stabilire un Nuovo Ordine sulla Terra.
Se il “cattivo” è impegnato, almeno nella prima parte del film, più a spiegare la sua filosofia che a far danni, gli Avengers sembrano persone in attesa di una seduta dallo psicanalista. Il gruppo è infatti costretto dal potere manipolatore di Wanda Maximoff (Olsen), una dei gemelli terribili e new entry del cast, a confrontarsi con loro stessi, con le loro paure e con un passato fatto di dolore e rinunce. Attraverso questa costruzione narrativa, lo spettatore osserva e analizza la parte umana e più intima dei supereroi, scoprendone le debolezze e in qualche modo identificandosi con loro.
Ma quale è la missione degli Avengers in questo secondo capitolo, si chiede lo spettatore durante la proiezione del film? La trama complessiva, infatti, è tutt’altro che chiara. La sceneggiatura, pur nella complessità e ricchezza di storie e sub plot, evidenzia delle criticità. Il testo si muove tra filosofia, esistenzialismo, paure, angosce in maniera agile e brillante eppure in certi momenti rischia di deragliare. Si ha come la sensazione che il regista Whedon, cercando di stupire al massimo, abbia messo troppo carne al fuoco, dimenticando che questo tipo di film prima di tutto deve far divertire, riflettere sì ma senza appesantire troppo la mente.

When the expectations are great, the possibility of being disappointed is always around the corner. This was the first thought I had after watching “Avengers. Age of Ultron “. Although it may sound strange, I really think that people like me, saw and enjoyed the first chapter of the series can not avoid being slightly disappointed by the sequel.
Upon entering the room I was hoping to see once again the perfect mechanism that, in the first film, united text, interpretation, special effects and narrative power of Marvel characters. It happened only in part. Admittedly recurrence was difficult, if not impossible.
Just think about the fact that finding a bad glamorous and fascinating as Loki was a feat in itself, and you know, any movie heroes and super-powers has hope to work without a “villain” height. Ultron (James Spider), created by the genius and above all by fears of Tony Stark (Downey Jr.), like but not convincing to the end. The character, in hindsight, is nothing but the nemesis of Stark robotics, artificial intelligence, as a novel Frankenstein, rebels against his creator and decided to establish a new order on Earth.
If the “bad” is involved, at least in the first part of the film, more to explain his philosophy to do damage, the Avengers seem people waiting for a seat psychoanalyst. The group is forced from power manipulator Wanda Maximoff (Olsen), a terrible twins and newcomer cast, to confront themselves with their fears and with a past of pain and renunciation. Through this narrative construction, the viewer observes and analyzes the human part and the most intimate of superheroes, discovering weaknesses and somehow identifying with them.
But what is the mission of the Avengers in this second chapter, the viewer is asked during the screening of the film? The overall plot, in fact, is far from clear. The script, despite the complexity and richness of stories and sub plot, highlights the critical issues. The text moves between philosophy, existentialism, fears, anxieties in an agile and brilliant and yet at times threatens to derail. One has the feeling that the director Whedon, trying to impress the most, has put too thinly, forgetting that this type of film, first of all should entertain, think yes but without weighing too much mind.
